Shade Chaser ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains how we handle your information when you use our mobile application (the "App").

Information We Collect

Location Data (GPS). The App uses your device's GPS to:

• Detect your current location to find nearby bus routes
• Determine the bus direction you are traveling
• Calculate the sun position relative to your route

All location data is processed on-device only. We do not transmit, store, or share your GPS location on any server.

Motion Sensors

The App may use the device compass (motion sensor) to improve heading accuracy when GPS signal is weak. This data stays on your device.

No Account Required

The App does not require registration, login, or any personal information to function. We do not operate our own analytics or user profiling systems.

Advertising

The native iOS and Android versions of the App display banner ads through Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK). AdMob may collect or use device identifiers (such as the advertising ID), IP address, and similar technical data to deliver and measure ads. This may include personalized ads based on AdMob’s default settings.

We do not sell your personal information. You can learn how Google uses data for advertising and how to control ad personalization at Google’s Advertising policies.

The web / PWA version of the App does not show AdMob ads.

Third-Party Services

The App displays a map using Leaflet with OpenStreetMap tiles. These services may have their own privacy policies regarding map tile requests (which may include your IP address).

Advertising is provided by Google AdMob. Google’s privacy practices are described in the Google Privacy Policy.

Data Storage

• Local Storage: Your language preference and saved routes are stored locally on your device using browser localStorage.
• No Cloud Storage: We do not operate any backend servers for user content. GPS and app preference data remain on your device.

Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy. Changes will be posted here with an updated date.
